Google has launched a new platform that integrates AI agents and AI-powered search for businesses, reports PYMNTS. Google Agentspace, announced on Friday, combines the company’s Gemini AI model and search capabilities with businesses’ data, regardless of where it’s stored.
“Google Agentspace makes your employees highly productive by helping them accomplish complex tasks that require planning, research, content generation and actions — all with a single prompt,” stated Saurabh Tiwary, vice president and general manager of Google Cloud AI, in the press release.
The platform incorporates NotebookLM Plus, a new tool that synthesizes information, uncovers insights, and provides audio summaries and other ways to interact with company data. An early access program for this feature is currently available.
Google Agentspace also includes a company-branded multimodal search agent that enables information discovery from structured data (tables), unstructured data (documents and emails), and widely used third-party applications like Google Drive. This agent provides conversational assistance, answers to complex questions, and proactive suggestions.
The platform further enables the creation of custom AI agents that automate various functions, including research, content drafting, and repetitive tasks. Google Agentspace will soon offer the ability for employees to build and refine their own AI agents.
One early adopter, Banco BV, a Brazilian bank, is using Google Agentspace to enable secure and compliant search, assistance, and actions across its systems.
The launch of Google Agentspace comes as AI agents are increasingly transforming industries by automating complex tasks and learning from their environments, as PYMNTS reported in October. Microsoft, Salesforce, and Workday are among other technology giants prioritizing AI agents in their AI strategies, as noted in a September report.
